Couples & Family Relationship Coach

I work with couples, individuals, and families who keep having the same conversation and getting nowhere. I help you see the pattern you're caught in, change the habits that keep it going, and actually hear each other, sometimes for the first time.

I work with couples, individuals, and families who keep having the same conversation and getting nowhere. I help you see the pattern you're caught in, change the habits that keep it going, and actually hear each other, sometimes for the first time.

Does this sound familiar?

One of you pushes. The other pulls away.

You explain yourself. They hear criticism.

You argue about something small and end up somewhere old.

Frustrated. Disconnected. Unheard.

You both want to be understood. Neither feels heard.

That is exactly where I come in.

What clients say

The things I'd been telling him for two years finally landed when someone outside the loop said them.

K. & P.

He kind of got us. There were things he pointed out and it was like, oh wow, yeah, I do do that.

There's another person here who can help us see things we might not be seeing.

Start on your own

You can begin working on the pattern from your side. Individual sessions help you understand what's happening, find your own clarity, and show up differently in the relationship. One person changing how they show up changes the dynamic.

Start together

You work on it together, as a couple or as family. Sometimes jointly, sometimes individually, because real change often needs space to breathe. We identify the pattern you're caught in and build a different way through it.

How the work runs

A practical, step-by-step process. We work with how the pattern shows up now, not where it came from.

1

See the pattern

I meet you together, as a couple or family, or individually if you prefer. You describe the disagreements, tension, or behaviors that frustrate you. I map how the pattern runs: what sets it off, how each person reacts, and what each expects from the other in that moment.

2

See the other side

I reflect back each person's reactions and feelings, and walk each of you through the other's perspective. Together we identify the gap between what one needs and what the other hears.

3

Replace the habit

We name the habits that keep the loop going. Together we choose small, concrete replacements, usually one after the other, and you practice them between sessions.

4

Make it hold

Each session starts with what worked. A new habit that didn't stick gets replaced quickly with another one. The ones that hold become the base for the next.

Who this is for

It fits

  • Couples with a solid base and a willingness to improve and grow, with both partners in it
  • Individuals in a solid relationship who want to work on it on their own
  • Couples where one partner is reluctant to try therapy but open to coaching
  • Couples finishing therapy who want help turning insight into new habits
  • Family members working through non-clinical tension, including families who run a business together
  • People already in therapy who want practical help alongside it

Where I stop

This is coaching, not therapy. I don't diagnose or treat. Trauma, abuse, addiction, and clinical anxiety or depression belong with a licensed clinician. When they come up, I refer to one.

Couples & Family Relationship Coach  Â·  Riverdale, New York

I'm a certified relationship coach and I work with couples, individuals, and families who feel stuck in the same patterns. The same fight. The same distance. The same conversation that goes nowhere.

I came to this work through teaching and a long career in technology. Over and over I noticed that most problems, whether in a startup, a team, or a marriage, come down to the same thing. Two people who want to be understood and neither one feeling heard.

I trained as an adult instructor with a grounding in educational psychology and taught for years. I then spent two decades in tech designing how people learn new ways of working, and today I teach at Yeshiva University and Queens College. That's the lens I bring: how people actually change their habits.

My approach to couples communication is Gottman-informed, and I hold an Associate Certified Coach credential from the International Coaching Federation.

What I bring is simpler than credentials. I see patterns quickly. I hear what's underneath what people say. And I know how to help two people slow down long enough to actually listen to each other.

I'm also a parent, a university professor, and someone who has sat in hard conversations himself. I work as a coach and a mentor. I'll tell you what I see, suggest what to try, and help you practice it until it holds.

Forward focused. Practical, concrete steps.
